Rating and load qualifications

  • There is one PX-180ARV product with two operating modes, not two separate models. AUV autonomy and ROV surface-control equipment must be specified in the quotation.
  • The optional 200 m power-carrier cable and 1000 m zero-buoyancy fiber cable are different choices. Neither changes the 0–200 m working-depth range or promises a horizontal radius.
  • Maximum 4 h endurance refers to the listed 1 kWh battery; 5 h is charging time. Full test conditions and payload definitions remain unprovided.

ParameterBrochure value and definition
Overall dimensions

1200 × 380 × 400 mm (approx. 47.2 × 15.0 × 15.7 in)

Manufacturer physical-size record; packed dimensions are not supplied.

Vehicle weight

30 kg (approx. 66 lb)

Vehicle weight, not payload or shipping weight. No payload capacity is stated.

Working depth

0–200 m (0–656 ft)

The working-depth limit is independent of control-cable length and applies to the quoted configuration.

Velocity range

0–4 kn (approx. 0–2.06 m/s; 0–4.60 mph)

Vehicle speed range, not a quantified anti-current rating.

Propulsion and motion

5 thrusters; 5 degrees of freedom; hovering, automatic depth and navigation functions

Manufacturer control description; operating limits to confirm for each mode.

Battery energy

1 kWh lithium battery

Quoted battery, charger and power arrangement must be confirmed.

Maximum endurance

4 h maximum

Test conditions are not supplied. Maximum speed, endurance and active sensor use are not simultaneous guarantees.

Charging time

5 h

Charging duration, separate from mission endurance; charger and local power compatibility to confirm.

Camera and viewing

8 MP photos; 1080p/60 fps video; PTZ viewing angle >150°

Manufacturer vehicle-camera record. An external 4K camera is listed separately in expandable equipment.

Illumination

2 × 2200-lumen LEDs

Light-source output, not an underwater visibility or observation-distance guarantee.

AUV mode

Autonomous navigation, decision-making and path planning; DVL and underwater acoustic communication described

Navigation hardware, mission software, acoustic link and task scope must be identified in the selected configuration.

ROV mode

Tethered control and online video observation; steady-state navigation, depth holding and hovering

Confirm surface controls, tether and operating procedures. This does not make all PX-series AUVs tether-capable.

Power-carrier control cable

Optional; up to 200 m (approx. 656 ft)

ROV-mode cable choice, not a default inclusion or guaranteed horizontal radius.

Fiber-optic control cable

Optional zero-buoyancy cable; up to 1000 m (approx. 3281 ft)

ROV-mode alternative. A 1000 m cable does not increase the 200 m working-depth limit.

Expandable sensing and communication

Magnetometer, depth sensor, combined GPS/radio/Wi-Fi antenna, DVL, forward-looking sonar, external 4K camera, underwater acoustic communication, side-scan sonar and manipulator

Manufacturer-listed scope; exact hardware, power, interfaces and standard-versus-optional inclusion require confirmation.

Deployment and surface equipment

Manufacturer describes 1–2 operators for deployment/recovery; optional special reel winch and shore-based control box

Operator count is a manufacturer description, not a site-independent handling or safety guarantee. Cable route, lifting and final equipment scope must be agreed.

Configuration / DetailPengpai Ocean · PX-180ARV · Brochure surface-control reference

The case and laptop illustrate the manufacturer's surface-control scope. This reuses the opening source image, not an alternate view or a guaranteed kit. Confirm navigation, tether, control box and reel for the chosen mode.

Application scope
  • Scientific research

The manufacturer lists research applications and configurable task sensors. Define the required observations, data, mission duration and navigation accuracy.

  • Marine-resource exploration

Resource exploration is a documented application area. Required sonar, sensing, coverage and recovery arrangements determine the configuration; no survey-data accuracy is inferred from the vehicle ratings.

  • Experimental teaching

The brochure lists experimental teaching demonstrations. Confirm autonomous mission functions, tethered supervision, operating area and available interfaces.

Selection limits

Define whether the task requires autonomous coverage, live tethered observation or both. Current, visibility, navigation accuracy, cable routing and recovery conditions need project confirmation. This hybrid vehicle is not documented as a net-cleaning system; its 30 kg vehicle weight is not a tool payload rating.

Documented vehicle equipment
  • Hybrid vehicle

The brochure documents a 30 kg vehicle, five thrusters, five degrees of freedom and AUV/ROV operating modes. The payload capacity is not specified.

  • Camera, lighting and energy

A high-definition camera, two LED lights and a 1 kWh lithium battery are listed. Confirm exact installed equipment, battery, charger and accessories in the supply bill.

  • Mode-specific controls

Autonomous navigation is described for AUV mode; tethered video/control, depth holding and hovering are described for ROV mode. These functions need a specified navigation and surface-control configuration.

Optional equipment and integration
  • Navigation and task sensors

DVL, acoustic communication, magnetometer, depth sensor and combined antenna are listed. Sonar, external 4K camera and manipulator are expandable choices; not every item is automatically supplied.

  • ROV-mode cable choice

Choose an optional power-carrier cable up to 200 m or zero-buoyancy fiber-optic control cable up to 1000 m. Confirm communications, video and power interfaces for that choice.

  • Reel and surface control

A special reel winch and shore-based control box are optional. The pictured laptop and control case are manufacturer references, not a finalized kit list.

Interfaces to confirm

Provide sensor models, mass, buoyancy, mounts, connectors, voltages, data protocols and required control functions. Confirm DVL/acoustic navigation, mission planning, ROV video/control and cable integration with Pengpai Ocean. No verified report establishes arbitrary third-party sensor or manipulator compatibility.

A brochure equipment reference is not a final delivery list. Specify each instrument, controller and accessory in the quotation.
